The existence of museums in urban areas is an essential indicator of modern civilization. Museums reflect modern humanity not simply as a location to learn history or as a tourist destination. Museum Kayu (the wood museum), as one of Sampit city landmarks (Kotawaringin Timur / Kotim regency of the Central Kalimantan province), has excellent potential to become a locomotive for concrete examples of city history cultural education centers and one of the critical factors in future strategic planning for the development of an integrated eco-friendly tourism industrial area. This potential aligns with one of PT Rimba Makmur Utama's (PT RMU) aims as the Katingan-Mentaya Project conservation area manager, "Developing and increasing the economy and environmental awareness of the area."
As partners with the Kotim Regency Government, PT RMU, in collaboration with Kotim's Culture and Tourism Office, committed to implementing the initial feasibility assessment for the Museum Kayu rehabilitation endeavor to the SENADI Foundation in August 2021. Started with publishing a public service advertisement as the collaborative support pledge on the Radar Sampit daily; the activity officially launched on October 19, 2021, with an official hearing to the District Head of Kotim, Mr. Halikinnor, cohered by PT. RMU and Berakar Komunikasi.

Includes research and field surveys for stakeholders in Sampit City and surrounding areas, online follow-up coordination, hybrid focus group discussions by the Kotim's Culture and Tourism Office, and the preparation of the report on the results of the initial feasibility study of the Museum Kayu Sampit revitalization initiative titled 'Sampit Forever!' has been hand-delivered over to PT RMU in March 2022.
